KAWASAKI ZR [2001-2004] - Z-ring chain

The Regina 525 HPE Z-Ring Chain with Rivet Link sets new standards in motorcycle chain performance and durability. This innovative chain, developed by Regina, a leading manufacturer in the motorcycle industry, does not require regular relubrication, which would otherwise be required every 1,000 km. This outstanding feature not only saves time but also maintenance costs.

Extensive testing in the laboratory and on the road has proven that the durability of the HPE chain is at least as high, if not higher, than that of a conventional, regularly lubricated Z-ring chain. A key advantage of this chain is the coating with Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C), one of the most advanced coatings in the field of DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) technologies. This coating is applied to the surface of the bushings and rollers and reduces energy losses while increasing efficiency in the secondary drive.

The very high hardness of the coated surface combined with a low coefficient of friction results in improved performance. Additionally, eliminating the need to clean and lubricate the chain minimizes environmental impact. The development of this innovative coating process was carried out through intensive research and development work by Regina engineers in Italy.
